HOW TO DOWNLOAD A VIDEO

prepare the video which you wanted to make gifs of.

if you haven’t downloaded it, i recommend you to use one of Mozilla Firefox’s video downloader add-ons (if you are a Firefox user).

you also can download the video from this website (you can download any videos from YouTube, Dailymotion, etc).

to make a gif, i recommend you to choose the standard quality of MP4 video (480×360)  or higher when the site gives you some choices of video file format to be downloaded.

HOW TO CONVERT THE VIDEO INTO INDIVIDUAL .jpg FRAMES

now, you have to download this program –> Free Video to JPEG Converter

it will convert your video into individual .jpg frames.

after the installation setup has been finished, run the program. it should be appeared like this:

click BROWSE

Choose the video that you wanted to make gifs of, and it will be appeared in ‘Input files:’ box.

Under the ‘Extract’ section, you will see 3 options are given.

Make sure that you’ve chosen ‘Every ______ seconds’ option, then type 0.13 in the box

Choose your ‘Output Folder’ by click BROWSE to place the converted image frames.

(do this once at the first time, you do not need to do this all the time you want to convert any videos)

Click ‘Extract’ button to start the converting process

After done with the converting process, check your output folder. there should be many pictures (image frames of the video) shown in chronological order, like this:

HOW TO MAKE THE GIF

now you have to download a picture editor software named GIMP.

after the installation setup has been finished, run the program. it should be appeared like this:

click ‘File’ then click ‘Open as Layers’

select pictures from the output folder of the converted image frames that you want to make into a gif., then click OPEN.

(i recommend you to check your output folder where the image frames are saved first, then choose some pictures that you want to make gif of)

then it should be appeared like this:

CROP IMAGE

Look at the Toolbox, then click CROP.

Block the part of the image which you want to be appeared on your gif.

press ENTER on your keyboard, or click on the blocked part, then it should be appeared like this:

SCALE IMAGE

click ‘Image’ then click ‘Scale Image….’

type the number in ‘Width’ and it will automatically change its height.

After done with scaling process, click ‘File’ then click ‘Save As…’

Rename the file name and the file type too (IMPORTANT!!!!) then click SAVE

then a new box will be popped out, choose ‘Save as Animation’ then click ‘Export’

then a new box will be popped out, choose ‘Loop Forever’ and change the delay as you want to (it will influence the GIF speed ), then click SAVE.
