The cast of KBS drama “Dream High” was seen practicing to SNSD’s “Genie”. 2pm’s Taecyeon, missA’s Suzy, Soohyun, and IU said “Tell Me Your Wish” on the 14th with a dance cover of the hit song. The drama, which follows the stories of various students aiming to be pop stars, have included performances of missA‘s “Bad Girl Good Girl” and “Breathe”. Maybe the next cover will be of Soshi?

1. SNSD, a well-prepared group
Among Korean girl groups, SNSD are the most well-prepared. As trainees for 5-6 years on average, they have thoroughly prepared themselves even before debut. There are not many girl groups around with such a long period of training that Soshi have gone through. People might have different opinions on them but one thing for sure, SNSD’s live performances are always impressive and that is obviously the fruit of their intensive training, experience and thorough preparations.
SNSD are receiving more and more attention and interest from around the world these days.
On January 7th, Tyler Brûlé’s “The Secrets of My Brilliant Korea” column was published on UK’s ‘Financial Times’.
Tyler Brûlé who is also the editor-in-chief of ‘Monocle’, produced a list of ‘the top 10 Korean cultural contents having a very high possibility of success if they were to be exported out to foreign countries’ in the trendsetter column of the ‘Financial Times’ magazine. Among them, SNSD were ranked 7th and they are also the only entertainers who were listed in the Top 10.
On the girls, Tyler Brûlé commented, “speaking of K-Pop, it’s worth losing a few minutes on YouTube watching this ensemble of leggy girls belting out their hit single ‘Run Devil Run’”.
Besides massive popularity in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other Asian countries, it seems that the soshi effect is starting to hit the UK as well.

On the 15th, during an episode of KBS 2TV ‘Entertainment Relay’, ‘SNSD’s SNSD Award Show’ was conducted, where the members chose the winners amongst themselves.
